    TMAC Resources is looking to hire an Electrician to provide electrical support throughout all aspects of the Hope Bay mine. The selected incumbent will be responsible for but not limited to the installation, testing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining all types of mining and processing equipment. Underground experience will be considered an asset.


    This role will report to the Electrical Supervisor. The position is located at the Hope Bay Project site in Nunavut, Canada and will require regular rotational travel to and from the site (3 weeks in / 3 weeks out).


    • Test, troubleshoot, repair and maintain all types of electrical equipment. Basic knowledge of PLC programming an asset.
    • Assist in the development, construction and installation of new electrical systems.
    • Maintain records of electrical repairs and maintenance performed.
    • Reading and marking up electrical prints and schematics.
    • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair VFD drives.
    • Assist with operation of 4160V Power Generation system.
    • Promote Team environment, with excellent communications between all project and operations personnel.
    • Demonstrate awareness and commitment to health, community and environmental protection and take action to ensure that unsafe practices or non-compliant behaviours do not occur.
    • Inform, involve and engage key internal and external stakeholders appropriately; develop and maintain positive relationships and represent TMAC positively in the community.
    • Other such duties as may be assigned.


    • Journeyperson-Certified Electrician with 5+ years of experience with a minimum of 3 years in a mining/ore processing environment.
    • Red Seal certification will be considered an asset.
    • Knowledge of 4160V and 600V power distribution systems as well as 600V motor control centers and variable frequency drives.
    • Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code and M-421 Use of Electricity in Mines.
    • Working knowledge of PLC systems.
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders and stairs and operate manlifts and light vehicles.
    • Knowledge of CMMS Maintenance programs.
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
    • Class 5 driver’s license minimum.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and work ethic.
    • Experience in a cross cultural work environment.
    • Hands-on, self-sufficient and demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude.
    • Arctic experience is an asset.
    • Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office.
