  • Overview

    TMAC Resources is looking to hire a Director, Investor Relations and Strategic Development who will serve the company in two complementary categories. First, the Director has primary responsibility for the conventional investor relations functions, including but not limited to being a primary point of contact for shareholders, media and capital markets professionals as well as the proactive planning and execution of various investor marketing initiatives. The second key area of responsibility is working directly with TMAC’s President & CEO with respect to corporate development and strategic matters.

     

    This role will report to the President & CEO. The position is located at the Toronto corporate office.

    Responsibilities

    RESPONSIBILITIES – Investor Relations

    • Work closely with TMAC’s President & CEO with respect to communication with shareholders, media and capital markets professionals.
    • Proactively plan, manage and conduct shareholder meetings, conference calls, road shows, mine site visits and sales desk presentations.
    • Develop, write and/or edit, and disseminate investor relations materials, corporate materials (news releases, presentations, disclosures and filings, annual and quarterly reports, MD&A, annual information form and information circulars).
    • Manage the corporate brand and image including the website, ensuring content is current and compliant. Monitor the accuracy of information about the Company in the media, external sources and on social media.
    • Liaise with investors and the financial community on an ongoing basis.
    • Manage and communicate all blackouts.
    • Monitor trading activity of TMAC shares on the TSX.
    • Develop and maintain an Investor Database.

    RESPONSIBILITIES – Strategic Development

    • Work closely with TMAC’s President & CEO with respect to corporate strategy, including potential strategic initiatives to support the Company’s organic growth potential as well as external opportunities which impact the risk and value profile of TMAC.
    • Own the Company’s strategic corporate model.
    • Proactively provide creative contributions to TMAC’s corporate strategy process.
    • Maintain awareness of the capabilities and strategic imperative of companies which are potential acquirers of TMAC as an input to strategic planning.
    • Be the point person for any process of evaluation, coordinating various internal and external disciplines including, but not limited to, operations, exploration & geoscience, environmental affairs, finance and legal.
    • Be the responsible party for the security and coordination of any corporate information that is provided to or received from a third-party.
    • Demonstrate awareness and commitment to health, community and environmental protection and take action to ensure that unsafe practices or non-compliant behaviours do not occur.
    • Inform, involve and engage the key internal and external stakeholders appropriately; develop and maintain positive relationships and represent TMAC positively in the community.
    • Other such duties as may be assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Understanding of capital markets, valuation and risk perspectives in the metals & mining industry, specifically for precious metals.
    • Solid understanding of the mining industry combined with a relevant degree in Commerce/Business, Engineering or Geology.
    • Strong financial acumen and outstanding Microsoft Excel modelling skills and Microsoft PowerPoint composition and formatting skills.
    • Investment Banking, Investment Management or Accounting Firm experience an asset.
    • Superior attention to detail.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications and presentation delivery skills.
    • Excellent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
    • Highly proactive, hands-on, self-sufficient team player.
    • Excellent project management, coordination and planning skills.
    • Arctic experience is an asset.
