  • Overview

    TMAC Resources is looking to hire a Sample Bucker who will be responsible for sample logging and organizing, drying, crushing and pulverizing in a timely manner.

     

    This role will report to the Assay Lab Supervisor. The position is located at the Hope Bay site in Nunavut, Canada and will require regular rotational travel to and from the site on a 2 week on/2 week off rotation.

    Responsibilities

    • Check sample preparation equipment and tools and ensure equipment deficiencies and operational issues are reported clearly.
    • Prepare rock and metal process samples for assaying.
    • Conduct basic troubleshooting activities when problems arise.
    • Complete Sample Analysis Report Sheets and Daily Log Books.
    • Practice safe work habits and support a safety culture through participation in daily, weekly and monthly safety meetings.
    • Ensure representative samples are logged, prepped and advanced to fire assay in a timely manner.
    • Perform screen analysis and help to maintain metal balance.
    • Demonstrate awareness and commitment to health, community and environmental protection and take action to ensure that unsafe practices or non-compliant behaviours do not occur.
    • Inform, involve and engage the key internal and external stakeholders appropriately; develop and maintain positive relationships and represent TMAC positively in the community.
    • Other such duties as may be assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Experience as a sample bucker is preferred but not required.
    • Basic Math skills required.
    • Experience working in an industrial environment required. Mining environment preferred.
    • Must be able to lift 40 pounds unassisted.
    • Must be able to physically handle repetitive movement.
    • Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
    • Willing to work in dirty/ noisy environment.
    • Hands-on, self-sufficient and demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude.
    • Arctic experience is an asset.
