    TMAC Resources is looking to hire a Project Manager to provide planning and coordination of all aspects of the construction process. The Project Manager is responsible for the safety, scheduling, budget and quality of all construction projects and is responsible for directing and managing contractors and working closely with suppliers and service providers


    This role will report to the General Manager. The position is located at the Hope Bay site in Nunavut, Canada and will require regular rotational travel to and from the site on a 2 week on, 2 week off basis.


    • Develop Project Charters for new projects.
    • Manage projects, including but not limited to the upgrading of existing facilities, addition of new facilities, structures, accommodations and new sections of the mine.
    • Develop and implement project Work Plans that fully describe the activities and tasks to accomplish project goals.
    • Develop overall project schedules for the different phases of a project based on established project milestones.
    • Monitor, track and control project scope, progress and cost, and provide progress reports to senior management on a regular basis.
    • Provide leadership, guidance and support to contractors.
    • Ensure contactors comply with company safety, health and environment polies and procedures.
    • Manage resources, including human capital and equipment.
    • Work closely with the Warehouse, Procurement and Logistics team to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
    • Manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including operations, maintenance, engineering and senior management.
    • Establish work instructions for key activities to facilitate compliance to company standards and regulatory commitments.
    • Resolve problems that arise due to unexpected events such as inclement weather, emergencies or other issues that may arise.
    • Demonstrate awareness and commitment to health, community and environmental protection and take action to ensure that unsafe practices or non-compliant behaviours do not occur.
    • Inform, involve and engage the key internal and external stakeholders appropriately; develop and maintain positive relationships and represent TMAC positively in the community.
    • Other such duties as may be assigned.


    • Bachelor’s degree in civil, construction or mine engineering and/or Certification in construction management plus relative experience.
    • 15+ years of progressive senior experience in mining and construction.
    • Strong business and financial management skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and very organized.
    • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Works well under pressure and stressful situations.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills appropriate to all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to build, organize and direct staff and work teams.
    • Collaborative leadership style.
    • Hands-on, self-sufficient and demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude.
    • Arctic experience is an asset.
    • Experience in various Project management software.
    • Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office.
