  • Overview

    TMAC Resources is looking to hire an Operations Accountant to support the Finance department by being the site liaison with the financial planning and analysis processes and systems, preparation and maintenance of internal reports, support and tracking of the inventory, maintaining the fixed asset register and depreciation records and authorization for expenditures (“AFE”) process, and the preparation of quarterly forecast process.

     

    This role will report to the General Manager and the Corporate Operations Controller. The position is located at the Hope Bay Project site in Nunavut, Canada and will require regular rotational travel to and from the site on a 2 week on/2 week off basis.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist site cost owners with the compilation and analyses of monthly/quarterly results, as well as preparation of budgets and forecasts
    • Perform costing analysis within the ERP system
    • Assist with the site personnel with AFE preparation and guidance
    • Maintain the fixed asset register and perform the depreciation calculations
    • Work closely with the warehouse department at site to track and reconcile inventory
    • Assist with maintaining and improving internal controls at site
    • Prepare ad hoc reports and presentations
    • Demonstrate awareness and commitment to health, community and environmental protection and take action to ensure that unsafe practices or non-compliant behaviours do not occur
    • Inform, involve and engage the key internal and external stakeholders appropriately; develop and maintain positive relationships and represent TMAC positively in the community.
    • Other such duties as may be assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 2 years of Accounting experience
    • Degree or equivalent qualification in Finance or Accounting
    • Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
    • Experience with an integrated ERP, preferably SAP.
    • Excellent presentation, problem solving and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines.
    • Good written and oral communication skills.
    • Collaborative, professional team player with good interpersonal skills.
    • Efficient and able to manage competing priorities.
    • Hands-on, self-sufficient and demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude.
    • Arctic experience is an asset.
