TMAC Resources is looking to hire an Apprentice Millwright. Under the supervision of an experienced Millwright, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience installing, aligning, dismantling and moving stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. As an Apprentice Millwright, you will gain experience working in a fast paced, challenging, and professional work environment.


This role will report to the Fixed Plant Maintenance Supervisor. The position is located at the Hope Bay Project site in Nunavut, Canada and will require regular rotational travel to and from the site (3 weeks in / 3 weeks out).


  • Assist with installation and maintenance of overhauled equipment in a timely manner according to manufacturer’s recommendations. 
  • Keep work areas and equipment clean and free of safety hazards on a continuous basis and conduct routine inspections of the workplace.
  • Conduct equipment inspections in response to Operations concerns or as outlined by a maintenance schedule.
  • Communicate reports on maintenance, and log repairs.
  • Work together to promote a Positive Safety Culture.
    • Complete a JHA prior to performing tasks.
    • Maintain Daily FLRA’S
    • Identify safety concerns and share amongst your peers
    • Adhere to all safety standards and policies.
    • Foster a positive attitude towards managing change.
  • Demonstrate awareness and commitment to health, community and environmental protection and take action to ensure that unsafe practices or non-compliant behaviours do not occur.
  • Inform, involve and engage key internal and external stakeholders appropriately; develop and maintain positive relationships and represent TMAC positively in the community.
  • Other such duties as may be assigned.


  • Minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance experience in the mining industry preferred. 
  • Must have completed Millwright coursework or will be completed in the near future.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or the equivalent.
  • Ability to learn and understand technical procedures and information quickly.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently and as part of a team.
  • Hands-on, self-sufficient and demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Arctic experience is an asset.
