Overview

TMAC Resources is looking to hire a Mine Shift Supervisor to support the mine production by providing direct leadership to the mine development, construction, and production crews. This is a fantastic opportunity to recognize mine production challenges, identify risks, and implement solutions.

 

This role will report to the Mine Production Superintendent and Mine Production Captain. The position is located at the Hope Bay Project site in Nunavut, Canada and will require regular rotational travel to and from the site (3 weeks in / 3 weeks out).

 

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct leadership and supervision to the mine development, construction and production crews.
  • Directs Company employees and Mining Contractors to maximize productivity while achieving zero harm.
  • Develops daily and weekly line-ups for Company employees and Mining Contractors to meet the short-term plans.
  • Works closely with all site departments to ensure timely resources are planned to support mine production, mine development, drilling, blasting, haulage, and crushing.
  • Demonstrates awareness and commitment to health, community and environmental protection and takes action to ensure that unsafe practices or non-compliant behaviours do not occur.
  • Informs, involves and engages key internal and external stakeholders appropriately; develops and maintains positive relationships and represents TMAC positively in the community.
  • The position is located at the Hope Bay Project site in Nunavut, Canada and will require regular rotational travel to and from the site.
  • Other such duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible mine production supervision experience.
  • Eligibility to obtain Nunavut Shift Boss Certificate.
  • Must have narrow vein long hole mining experience. 
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in both conventional and mechanized mining with focus on surgical mining methods for grade control.
  • Highly effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to problem solve, make decisions and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Mine Rescue and/or Surface Fire-Fighting would be considered an asset.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills at a supervisory level.
  • Ability to direct and work cooperatively with Mining Contractors.
  • Mine Rescue experience is an asset.
  • Arctic experience is an asset.
